Theandb& Kleine C Are Back

The house in Sere Rustaing in the south of France was a wonderful hub to explore the area around it. It all started with the wedding of Sylvie and Bruno in the church of the village. But we also ventured into other regions. Two times did we make it to Spain and did canyoing. Especially for Bjoern - a first-timer in canyoing - a magnificent experience. And little Cille went with us all the way to Spain. A real camper is born.
A usual day in Sere Rustain: Wake up at 9AM (early for us) because of the heat outside. A light breakfast, some juggling and spend the rest of the day inside of the house other than to feast on a delicious lunch and dinner from Chef Sylviane, Agnes' mother. The house saved us from the singing heat (also called hell) outside. But even there, behind 1 meter thick stone walls, the temperature climbed to easily 29�C. We often found refugee in the mountains where rivers and lakes were beautifully cold. The mountain lake we dived into can't have had more than 10�C. Brrrrr, but oh so welcome.
We returned into Bjoerns childhood with our journey to Lacanau Ocean. For Agnes it was a very strange experience to see her Bjoern recognize the path to his old house; 67, rue Marie-Curie. More than 10 years after, his memories still matched with reality. The same water-front, the same cocktail bar, even the old Pizerria "La Mama" was at its place. We were lucky enough to find a place on a camping place in the busiest season of the year that was located right next to Lake Lacanau. And we met an old German friend of the Schliebitz family. Oh, let's not forget about the ocean, finally the ocean. With all its elements. Waves, sun, wind, rain.
At the end of our vacation we completed the circle and made a comeback to St. Sulpice where we stayed for a short week.
Overall, we had a summer full of activities. Mountain-biking, jogging, canyoing, swimming (lake+ocean), juggling, hiking and baby-sitting. Our Cille grew 5cm and gained 1 kg. She is trying to talk, grabbing anything that comes close to her, loves to stand on her feet and still wants (and deserves) full attention.
